Is Hybrid solely \"gas + electric\" ?

    There are alot of new technologies popping up.. I just wonder if the term Hybrid is locked down or will that start to encompass more engery setups.

    I think that as long as it uses two or more systems to run off of, it is considered a hybrid.  So gas/electric is a hybrid...hydrogen/electric is a hybrid.  Just electric wouldn't be a hybrid, and so on.

    Let me clarify what I said...if something runs SOLEY on one fuel or energy source it is NOT a hybrid..but a plug in that uses both gas and battery is a hybrid.
